1. What opportunities are being missed when each little area (scheduling, supply management, marketing, and others) has its own “stove piped” data? (Provide some examples.)
As opportunities are being missed, with any organization having the right fit is important to succeed and getting organized. With the schedule, it does not provide a way to connect to the other resources such as client’s appointment. Therefore, Myra does not know if she is over staff or under staff. UMUC Haircuts does not have a way to keep track of the use of inventory like a PAR system that indicates a need to reorder supplies when they are low. Cash flow is consistent need a budget to plan better financial strategy. Tracking income and expenses are an important aspect of a business. Providing an easy way that the customers can make appointments via the internet or a good phone tree systems where they can call the individual stylist making sure they are available for the clients. What days are productive and need more help to serve her guest. Setting up the system to key in on products that are used and need to reorder. Making ordering supplies easy and fast at her fingertips without having to count inventory the system does the tracking for her based on her daily sales. With social media being able to market on a much larger scale than previously, she will reach a much larger audience. A good game plan is improving her business by being able to generate a more organized file system to keep track of her customers providing them with hassle free service that is not an inconvenience to their need.
