Being able to answer questions and give information about what to expect during the procedure , consulting with medical professionals and independently adapting to the planned procedure , upholding quality patient care standards during and after the procedure. Operating the ultrasound equipment and analyzing the findings, physically moving or assisting the movement of the patient as necessary to ensure comfort , having a successful procedure and minimal patient exposure to high frequency sound waves. Evaluating ultrasound exam results to identify expected and unexpected outcomes , determining whether appropriate test guidelines were followed , identifying and documenting unexpected results that may indicate the need for further testing, and completing ultrasound technician worksheets that explain test the findings to the physician. There is no specific sex to be a ultrasound technician. The minimum age would depend on whenever the person gets there associate's degree. Also ,there are no work experience needed for the job and no on-the-job training needed after one is hired.
