Uganda
The country I chose to research is Uganda. I chose this country because I wanted to pick a country that is the exact opposite of the United States, and I thought Uganda was the perfect fit. This country interests me because I have always wanted to go visit Africa. Uganda is a country in Africa that is very underdeveloped and is not fortunate enough to have as much money and advanced technology as we do in the United States.
Uganda is located in Africa and is bordered by five countries; Rwanda, Kenya, Democratic Republic of the Congo, South Sudan, and Tanzania. Uganda does not have access to the sea since other African countries surround it. However, Uganda does have five giant lakes and eight rivers. Water covers almost one-fifth of the country according to the website “Our Africa: Uganda.” Two examples of the rivers are the Albert Nile and Victoria Nile. The Nile is the longest river in the world that goes across several east African countries; Victoria and Albert Nile are just two parts of the whole Nile River. Some of the lakes in Uganda are Lake Albert, Victoria, and Edward. Lake Victoria is the largest lake in Uganda. According to the website World Atlas, “Lake Victoria is approximately 68,800 square kilometers.”
The website “Nations Encyclopedia” says most of Uganda consists of a plateau 800 to 2,000 meters in height. The Ruwenzori …show more content…
