Given the opportunity to attend a play like Macbeth on Thursday was a once in a life time experience. An experience that not everyone gets to have in their life. This trip to UC Berkeley and to see the play Macbeth gave me the opportunity not only to visit a university that I've been wanting to visit, but this trip also gave me the opportunity to attend my first play. Overall, this trip was a great opportunity for all of us to experience something new and exciting.
Being able to leave the atmosphere of the small town where I live has always given me a feeling of excitement. Personally, I rarely get the chance to leave the small town where I live, so I feel like trips like these give me a better look into what the rest of the world has to offer.

The tour didn’t feel like a 90 minute event, it honestly felt much shorter. I found the tour very interesting and being able to learn about the history of this university and their well known staff gave me something to think about, "Is this a university that I would like to attend?" My answer to this question would be "Yes." This is a campus that I would consider transferring to. Not only did I get a feeling of excitement and thrill while being there, but I also feel like this campus would have a lot to offer as well as be full of new experiences for a girl that hasn't been out of her comfort zone like …show more content…
Personally, my favorite part of the play was the beginning scene that consisted of the three witches in the middle of the stage in which the three witches were torturing a man. I also found the markings on the guys chest interesting and began to wonder if those signs engraved on his skin were connected to witch craft and witches back in the days. Back to the beginning, I feel like the way the effects were done for the play was what made the play much more entertaining and pleasing to watch. I also feel like the two main actors for Macbeth which were played by Frances McDormand and Conleth Hill did an amazing job. Personally, Frances McDormand did an amazing job playing not just one role but two very important roles in the play which were Lady Macbeth and the main witch. The usage of language was still the same as the one we've read on the book, but when acted it is much more easier to

    1. By showing the witches in the beginning, Shakespeare was able to foreshadow all the conflict and uneasiness of the play. The witches bring a new kind of suspense by indirectly introducing Macbeth to the audience. Instead of having a normal introduction, Shakespeare uses the witches and their discussion to set up the uncertain mood of the play. In the quote, “Fair is foul and foul is fair,/Hover through the fog and filthy air” (Shakespeare, 7) all the witches are hinting at their schemes for Macbeth, while simultaneously, confusing the reader about what is to happen.…

The most effective aspects of the play were the music and costumes worn by the actors. The music helped to set the mood of the play. For example, when the two witches entered there was a drum that was used and when they talked long metal tube was played that sounded rather eerie and mysterious, much like the witches. Their costumes also helped me to understand the play better. They were wearing all black with mesh covering the faces to help conceal their identity, which was rather vague in the original play.…

Macbeth, the play written by William Shakespeare in 1606 examines the pitiful downfall of the fictional Scottish thane and latter, king, Macbeth through his murder of the king Duncan, his malevolent change in character and the tyranny he begins to spread against Scotland, due to his developing ‘greed and evil ambition. Shakespeare provides an alternative view of Elizabethan Tragedy through his writing of Macbeth by depicting the true core tragedy of the play, as Macbeth’s decline from greatness and enforcing this point to create tragedy rather than use typical Senecan-style archetypes. Shakespeare positions viewers through the use of dialogue and action to see Macbeth as a leader with potential for greatness who happens to fall from grace,…

There is one quote that really stood out, it was pronounced by Lady Macbeth “That death and nature do contend about them, Whether they live or die.” The reason why it stood out is because it shows the brutal mentality of the Macbeth’s. The Macbeth’s ended up killing Duncan, Banquo, and Macduff’s family. This is important because it shows how Macbeth didn’t get arrested, for killing multiple people. Macbeth is guilty of first degree murder for the planning and killing of Banquo, Duncan, and Macduff’s family.…

According to college professor, Susan Hurn, “Macbeth remains a popular choice in high school English programs for several reasons. For a Shakespearean drama, it is fairly easy to understand, as the plot is straight forward and easy to follow with its absence of subplots. Its characters are very memorable.” Macbeth, by the prolific William Shakespeare, is a play dating back to the early, elder, and later 1600 hundreds. Frequently, Macbeth is debated to be considered an outdated text.…
