Uc Davis Relationship Fair Analysis

“UC Davis Career and Internship Fair” This fall I started my journey with UC Davis. Davis is a really exciting, new and challenging chapter in my life. I moved from San Mateo, where I lived with my fiancée, to an apartment in Davis where I live on my own. Starting new school, and being surrounded by many new faces is not easy. I am not a person who can easily meet and connect with new people. UC Davis offers a lot of events for its students, some of them are very exciting like the welcome event that took place the last Friday of September, and some are less exciting like the one I just participated in, The Career and Internships Fair. I heard about the fair on few occasions, but I was not sure if I wanted to be a part of this event. I know fairs tend to be very crowded, to the point that one barely can move, and I really do not like crowds. Also, …show more content…
The UC Davis ARC welcomed me with a very long line to get in, but this did not discourage me. If anything, this made my expectations higher, as I thought, “this must be really great fair, since people are dressed up in suits, standing in line for 15minutes”. After entering the building, first I got overwhelmed by the great variety of companies actually participating in this event. Then, unfortunately, I noticed that most of the companies were looking for either computer engineers or mechanical engineers. There was really nothing there for psychology and/or communication major student. Most, but not all, of the people who were representing these companies, were not well informed. When I asked them questions they rarely had any answers for me, expect one…”I am not sure, but you can check online”. I attended the event myself, but I saw Rick when I got there. I waved to him, but I am not sure if he saw me, he looked really nervous about the whole

Because my mind was already so set on this plan, it felt as though my options at this event were fairly limited. I saw no point in visiting the booths belonging to schools that were not on my “to-do list”. However, boredom and curiosity drew me to consider possibilities I had previously neglected—and now, though I have become more uncertain of what exactly will be the plot for the next decade or so, I can safely say that the future looks much brighter than it had before. In keeping with the decisions I had already made, I immediately looked for LSU’s and Northshore’s…

The test for foreign nationals under the Supreme Court's ruling is whether one has a "credible claim of bona fide relationship" with either an entity (like a school or a job) or a person living in the US (such as a spouse). A hotel reservation, for example, will not constitute a "bona fide relationship" under the executive order, but an academic lecturer invited to speak in the US will be exempt from the travel ban. If you can't sufficiently establish such a close relationship, you are banned for 90 days if you are from Libya, Syria, Iran, Somalia, Yemen and Sudan, and 120 days if you are a refugee from any country.…

One of the concepts Shakespeare explores in Much Ado About Nothing is that of the different natures of relationships. Throughout the play, Shakespeare sets up two distinct pairs of lovers, both exemplifying a different model of relationship. Shakespeare contrasts two ideals of relationships, one of which being a relationship of immediacy based on necessity and a need to fulfill social norms, and the other being a relationship that is based on genuine feelings of love that are cultivated slowly and thoughtfully over time. The conversation between Anthony, Leonato, Beatrice, and Hero in Act Two Scene One, regarding how Hero should respond to her impending proposal, contributes to this exploration of differing types of love by juxtaposing the nature of relationship that Anthony, Leonato, and Hero subscribe to with the differing ideal of relationship that Beatrice favors.…

My reflection on friendships will focus upon the loss of trust and respect I once felt for people I attributed these qualities towards.…
