Uc Davis Reflection

These stories would range from things that has happened during his work experiences before becoming a professor to when he was still an undergrad attending the same institution as we were. These stories that he would share to us had really helped me stay awake and focused during class considering it was a very early morning class that started at eight-thirty. I believe that this style of teaching is very rare and most professors I’ve taken and even to this very moment, here at UC Davis chooses to utilize. Professors tend to feel very distant to me, in terms of the materials that they

    1. What about your experience at Quinnipiac thus far prompted you to apply to be an Orientation Leader and why? What makes Quinnipiac different from the rest, is the community it sets forth for its faculty and students. Together we are one and can create a difference in each other’s lives. However, that sense of community could not be achieved through the simple action of blindly participating, but can be shaped through the guidance of our peers into who we are today.…

Our Lady of the Lake College is a Catholic institution that was created in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, who firmly believed that all of creation spoke volumes of God’s love for us. St. Francis was raised in a fairly wealthy family, and it was not until he was captured at battle for two years, that he decided to embark on the glorious journey of knowing Jesus Christ. He began preaching to word of God, and embraced others that were not of his kind. Students who attend Our Lady of the Lake College should be of the same example to others throughout their academic careers. As Franciscans, We live by five core values that are service, reverence and love for all of life, joyfulness of spirit, humility, and justice.…

The philosophy club had a good idea in inviting someone with a different view than the majority of students at DePaul in order to be open about free speech. However, the candidate they chose in this case is probably the most extreme example of conservative that they could’ve possibly gotten. Despite his views being based off of conservative values, Richard B. Spencer takes it to a whole new level. The “alternative right” level. Of course, Richard B. Spencer has the right to believe in what he wants to, we do live in the United States of America after all.…

Over the course of Dramatic Literature, we read and explored many important issues through literature. A moment that I found particularly powerful is when we read The Laramie Project and created interviews on the truth in drama through the production of our own documentary theater. My group conducted an interview on the question: is it okay for guys to sleep around, but not girls? In conducting the interview, the responses we got were overall the same. Many of the people we interviewed responded that it’s not okay for guys to sleep around, but not girls.…

Having gone to two different high schools I got to experience, firsthand, just how different two schools in the same county can be. Marvin ridge and Weddington High School are completely different in their appearance, their students and their academics. Marvin was the first high school that I attended. Its nickname was " Marvin Rich". The Ridge had a certain feeling to it when you stepped foot in its doors, almost as if the air was filled with exhaust from pricey cars and cologne from name brand stores.…

In researching different law schools in the past year, I compared the typical, essential characteristics in each school: Class size, specializations, Bar exam pass rate, etc. There is a sense of innovation not seen in other law schools that separates UC Irvine. The fact that UC Irvine opened in 2009 affords it the privilege to craft a curriculum and environment that takes the best ideas while avoiding the mistakes of other schools. Some hold faulty beliefs predicated on the notion that UC Irvine, due to its infancy, is not well-established.…

Both my earth science teacher and my history teacher have a particular way teach, a way that no every teacher is using. They both tried to focus on the smart ones or in those who are actually trying to learn in the class to make those who didn’t care about the class fight for their grade. Considering they were both pretty tough grader, they didn’t give a chance to those who were paying attention. Although they were both exceptional with their students, I remember that both always bring treats on Fridays, so if a student answer a question right in class, the student would it get a full donut and they answer wrong they would get half a donut. In addition to this my earth science teacher always try to make his classroom to feel like a party on Mondays so he always tried to make us feel like we 're at home, he even would let you to listen music in his class, although you could only do it with one earplug the other ear was always free so could hear what he was talking about.…

A past Life situation where I negatively sought action would be my transition to Salisbury University. Since the moment I found out I would not be going to any of my top college choices, I can remember a difference in my outlook and perception of the rest of my time until the move. As mentioned previously, I was dreading going away to college because of the proximity to home, the “high school” feel the campus, the greek life, the size of the school and many other factors. I imagined going to a large, out of state, public University in Florida, where I could escape the small town feel and see all new faces. Instead I was going to a medium sized, Maryland school, in a neighboring town with many classmates from high school, that both of my parents…
