Uc Arlitt Center Observation

Decent Essays
For my observation hours I went to the UC Arlitt center, located in Edwards. They focus on Early Childhood interest & Non-Ed. /Gen. Ed. The children were ages 3-5. The students were reading and playing with toys provided by the UC Arlitt center. Then the children ate lunch. They were seated at two tables, and the instructors all gave the children the food and drinks. When they were done eating they put their plates and cups into a bin, then they had some free time. Some used the restroom, which is supervised by one of the instructors. Some chose a book from the large selection they have, and read alone. Some read in groups, and some listened to one of the instructors read a book. Some children did not want to red, which was okay.

The other preschool classroom I observed was the Desert Vista High School Early Learning Center. The indoor environment of their classroom is smaller than my dream classroom but there is many different places for the children and students to play with toys, games and sing silly songs. Their indoor environment is very energetic because of the places and things that the children can play and do in the classroom with their classmates and teachers which is important because they want the children to have fun and feel safe. The outside environment is very cool because the children are able to do what they want and play and run off some energy but they are also able to play some pretty cool games with other children. There daily schedule is very simple because…

Childcare Director Interview (My answers for these were taken from both past conversations I have had with the director as well as my cooperating teacher since the director was gone recently due to a family issue out of state. I saw here very briefly on my last day for the first time in a while and because she was in the middle of something I only got to thank her for letting me be there this semester before I left. So, I am focusing mostly on the program’s newly expanding private school named Legacy Christian Academy which the kindergarten class I was with falls under because that’s where I was able to get most of my information.)…

Education for an infant or a toddler on a center-based environment or a family based environment is a good as the people in charge of it. Arguably, some may prefer one method versus the other base on their own personal experiences. Incidentally, relatives and friend have told me about stories, positive and negative in both environments. Therefore, I continue to support that any environment is good, as long as either the caregivers or the family in charge of the ECE are doing their respective part for the benefit of the infant or toddler.…

We were able to observe at our local child-care center, Nana 's Playhouse and Learning Center. I guess I’m blind because I didn 't see anything hanging up, but I did hear the teachers telling the kids that there is no snatching, no hitting, no biting, and no running. I didn 't know this until we started observing, but the child care center that we observed at has a bitting system. In the older classes since they know better than to bite their friends.…

I enjoyed reading your post. I liked how you mentioned that you would change the literacy center so that there was a rug, bean bags, and other things for them to sit on and read instead of using the table. One preschool classroom that I was in had it set up how you would change it along with a child sized couch. This made it more inviting for the students and most of the time, the students were always there reading.…
