I want to know what is it like to be in a more diverse community, comparing to my current school of only 800 students. Due to the size, the population forms many small pockets of social groups, which can be isolating. Although this community offers a wide array of different ideas and personalities, they are still very similar at their core. This leads me into why UW-M’s extracurricular activities interest me as well. Skimming through the massive catalog of clubs, I noticed that there were more academic-centered clubs than I expected- it seemed exciting that students could make connections with people both within and outside of their major while still learning about subjects that go with their academic interests.
