USAd Nelson Mandela Argumentative Essay

As I grew up and I achieved most of my education in Egypt, I never felt one day that the lifestyle and the status of the people have been affected by the color of their own skin as I saw it here in the USA. I always remember the President Sadat, the president of Egypt, he was one of the most extraordinary men in the last half century in our area, and he was black. All Arabs and the international community, not just Egyptian people, admired him and he was a man of great legacy. Similarly, I will not go so far and to remember Martin Luther King here in the USA and Nelson Mandela in South Africa, they were the most influential figures all over the world in the last century, and they were black also. But, when I immigrated to the USA, fifteen years ago, I was surprised when I saw people looking at each other and evaluating each other depending on the color of their skin; it was astonishing and new for me. If we took just one example such as the history of African American in the USA, it will be enough for all to know how much human did really pay in both ways. Mellody Hobson in her TED talks “Color Blind or Color Brave” said: “race is one of those topic in America that makes the people extraordinary uncomfortable”. Professor Sherman Jackson was saying to all non-Caucasian western people, who is trying hard to be western Caucasian instead of embracing his own skin color as it is: “you may be legally white, but you are not socially white”. Definitely, the statement of Mellody Hobson and professor Sherman Jackson means that racism was deeply settled in the psyche of the people in spite of all human efforts trying to get rid of
