On June 14th, 1775 the congressional army was formed and George Washington was elected the commander in chief. In the mid 1900s, the US military split into the separate branches: the Air Force, Navy, and Army. The career began to defend United States soil and the principles of the United States. A person should be training their body and mind for the challenges to come as well as finishing school, especially if they want to join the special forces. A person must have a high school diploma or equivalent to join the military (“Enlisted Soldiers”). The special forces require a minimum of a high school diploma, no equivalent. To get into the actual military, one will have to complete basic training.
