On Wednesday, 9/7/16, UNCW held its ‘Concert on the Commons Series. I had the opportunity to enjoy this event during my lunch break between classes at the fisher center. The ‘Naughty Feats’ were preforming down at the amphitheater. During most of the concerts they sung covers and towards the middle of the concert they began to show some of their original works. They were pretty enjoyable. I am not certain if they were a well know small local band or if they were just a student band that formed on campus but they were very talented and I hope that they do well I their career. This band had a more ‘soft’ alternative rock vibe and their interpretation of known song were fun, easily recognizable, and also easily understood. One of my favorite parts about this event wasn’t the music itself but seeing how student slowly made their way out of fisher or the other surrounding buildings and came to either sit and watch or to work outside and enjoy the music. People were singing along with the song. Some were even dancing. The hula-hoop troop (wow say that 5 times fast) was even out preforming to the music in order to show off the talents of their club. It was really cool and I had no idea that there were so many things that one could do with a hula-hoop. …show more content…
I felt proud to post a few videos of the concert that was showing all of the fun and ‘good vibes’ that were surrounding campus. While is was such a ‘simple’ event, I feel it is the little things that really make the difference in college. While it is great to have so many opportunities to major campus events it is also amazing to have simple things like a mini concert to help make you smile, relax you and give you something else to focus on during the fast pace life that we all

Very few famous performers nowadays can integrate showmanship with their music. In the 70’s a musical group by the name of Parliament took the music world by storm with their out of this world appearance and their own rendition of Funk music. Parliament was one of the key pieces in the development of funk music and modern music as well. They created what we know as P-Funk today that was a key element of the foundation of Hip-Hop. For my concert report I analyzed Parliament’s 1976…
