Everything happens for a reason I lived my whole life in Mexico a place where you can meet good friends and, most of them people don’t have nothing not even a dime on them, but they are very humble. I won’t deny that Mexico is also a country where there is so much evil where even walking down the street you can feel yourself unprotected from their own people and the government itself, but nevertheless Mexico is like a playground where you can spend all your time having fun. To succeed in Mexico is very difficult because it firmly depends on two things, time and place, if you don’t have at least one of them your probabilities of success are low. My conflict arises when I had to choose between a better life which was coming to the US and what at the time was my current which was pretty much my whole life, friends, education, etcetera. “Everything happens for a reason” my dad always says, so in order to be successful I had to face the adversities of life and see whether if my current life was better for me or the future life that was waiting for me somewhere else.…

Life's a journey worth taking the unbeaten path. That is why, despite looking up to my loving parents and having the utmost respect for them, I have taken a different road than they did. However, undergoing any challenge without their guiding experience can certainly prove to be an undertaking. I, a first generation college student, am the pioneer of higher education for my family. Though I join many others in lunging out into the world for the first time, I am doing so without having a father or mother to tell me how to tackle the college experience.…

Why should I be selected as Homecoming Queen? It is funny that you asked. This is a question that I have asked myself since freshman year when I saw my first UNCG Homecoming. According to a website about Oklahoma tuition breakdowns, Murray State College costs $146.67 total per credit hour (Corporation). The tuition itself is $128.00 and the mandatory fees are $18.67 totaling the $146.67 total per credit hour (Corporation). Although community college is cheaper than a four-year university like the University of Oklahoma, college students still have the burden of the fees and possible loans they have to pay. Tuition and fees along with books at a two- year college like Murray State College can cost up to $3,500 per semester, but at a four-year university like the University of Oklahoma tuition and fees along with books can cost up to $4,200 per semester. This is a substantial difference in costs for a two-year college and a four-year university.…

I want to begin this letter by apologizing to the Brandeis administration and faculty whom I may have disappointed by not performing to my fullest potential the past academic year, particularly on the prior semester, and I take full responsibility for the past semester’s performance. Since my first semester at Brandeis, I wanted to partake in as many clubs and beneficial experiences as possible. My schedule was quite hectic but I enjoyed all the clubs and volunteer work I was a part of, however, this took a toll on my first semester grades. As a means to avoid the same predicament I chose to enroll in classes once I returned to Brandeis and not during the fall semester as I would be able to adequately accommodate clubs and other opportunities into my schedule without it having an effect on my academics.…
