While analyzing the individual components of the UBC on-campus food system, it is evident that both strengths and weakness can be recognized within the system as a whole. The UBC food system offers healthy and organic food not only to students, but also to staff, faculty members, and the local community. The food system puts emphasize on locally grown food that is minimally processed to provide safe, affordable and nutritious food to consumers. Not only are consumers able to shop and eat safely, it is also a great way for them to learn about the the different aspects in the food system such as processing and ingredients.
