Like the majority of Americans, Johnson believes that liberty, equality, democracy, civic duty, and individual responsibility are the most important elements in the political system. However, he values the element of “individual responsibility” more than the rest. Since his father, Rocky Johnson, was considered to be a self-made man, Johnson strongly believes that everybody should be responsible for his or her own actions and welfare. Johnson takes a very Republican stand on good citizenship because opposes progressive taxation, decreasing military spending, and government regulation. Furthermore, he seeks to expand homeownership to help create wealth. Johnson is more than confident that if he were voted in as President, he would apply these principles immediately in order to create a more productive civil society.
