There is something that often troubles our society. It is worse than all kinds of cancers combined and as horrifying to see. It is hard to catch and is more common than the common cold. It is lying. Everyone at one point in their life has lied. Many lie to the most important people in their lives because they don’t want to create conflict between them, but it just ends up making a bigger mess than if they would have told the truth. Some lie to other people they hardly even know because they want to be like them or make a good impression. Most of the time compulsive liars suffer from low self-esteem. They may have come from a dysfunctional family. They lie to make an impressive image of themselves and they are afraid to face the truth. A compulsive liar is never nervous. Their stories are not consistent because they don’t remember which story they told to which person. Compulsive liars are the kind where they like to be the center of attention. They lie so people will notice them. A compulsive liar can lie looking you straight in the eye. You can look at their body language for many signs of lying. If their arms are crossed they might be hiding something from you or maybe if they are blinking often, then chances are they are lying. A pathological liar is someone who lies constantly to get their own way and without caring about anyone else. Lying has become a habit for the person. The liar will even lie if it means putting him or herself at risk. Lying feels good to them. Some people call pathological lying a disease because of the effect it can have on his or her life. A Pathological liar is regarded as a symptom of a psychological disorder. With pathological liars, you can quickly tell they are not telling the truth. Some signs you have to look for in these kinds of liars are: if the person has a personality disorder or is maybe bipolar. Maybe they have an addiction to drugs, alcohol, or gambling.
