Diabetes is a medical disorder that affects the way the body uses food for the growth and energy. (Diabetes: Taking charge of your health) In America, more than 20 million people have diabetes. (American Medical Association, 1) There are two types of diabetes—type 1 and type 2. The type 1 diabetes generally occurs at age 8 to 18, and mostly occurs with genetic. The type 2 diabetes generally occurs after the age of 40. It happens being overweight, physically inactive and eating unhealthy food. This paper going to discuss about type 2 diabetes about maintain a healthy weight, eating healthy diet food, and exercise.

(Diabetes) This mean changing how you buy food and how you consume it. These days we consume more food than our body need, furthermore, lack of physical activity that food becomes fat, and This going to lead having problem with insulin to make energy out of it. Some people eat food because they are sad or bored, and they will not realize it, and it can lead excess of calories. Here are some helpful guidelines for improving your eating habits eat only when you’re hungry, eat slowly (it takes 20 to 30 minutes to start feeling full), and stop eating before you are full. (American Medical Association, 41) Most of the foods are made up of three basic components carbohydrates, protein and fat. Carbohydrates are the most important source of fuel in the body because they digested rapidly and make quick energy out of it and cause rapid rise in blood sugar levels. Fiber is a type of carbohydrate that is important in diet to people who are risk of having type 2 diabetes. A diet high in fiber-rich foods can help make the cells more sensitive to insulin, which regulate blood sugar levels. (American Medical Association, 47) The fats add flavor and smoothness to our food. There are good fat and there are bad fat. The good fats are monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats and plant sterols. Monounsaturated fats found in olive and canola oil, and polyunsaturated fats found in corn, sunflower, and soybeans oils. …show more content…
The study also indicates that weight loss, healthy diet, and exercise are the best way to lowering type 2 diabetes even better than medication. (Diabetes: Taking charge of your health) in America, the diabetes rates are going because of unhealthy food and lack of exercise. Exercise helps cells use the circulating blood sugar they need for energy production by making the cells more sensitive to the hormone insulin, even if you don’t also lose weight. (American Medical Association, 69) But any weight loss can improve insulin sensitivity even more. The 10 –or 15-mintues of exercise like walking or running can help you lowered the risk of developing type 2
