Diseases related to insulin: Insulin is an important factor in our bodies. It is important to maintain normal levels of insulin in our bodies for proper function. When insulin levels are at an abnormal level certain complications occurs, which results in disease. Insulin is a major factor in diabetes. There are two types of diabetes. People with type 1 diabetes cannot produce insulin because the body’s immune system attacks the beta cells of the pancreas. This results in the accumulation of glucose in the blood stream. As a result, glucose cannot get inside cells which need glucose for energy. Therefore, people with type 1 diabetes become fatigue with loss of appetite and energy. Although there is no cure for type 1 diabetes people can get treated by insulin injections. Type 2 diabetes occurs when the pancreas is not making sufficient amounts of insulin to regulate glucose levels which causes accumulation of glucose in the blood stream.

Type 2 diabetes can also occur in people that are not obese, but usually in elderly people.
