Tyler, a high school senior, is viewed as an outcast and gets overlooked by every single student in his class. That is, until he gets busted spray painting his school and spends his summer doing work to pay for it, he then stands out like you wouldn’t believe. It begins to set off a string of events that have Tyler questioning his place in the world and with his family. He has always struggled with suicidal thoughts, never thinking he was strong enough for anything and was repeatedly bullied for his size. Tyler decides enough is enough and he wants to make a name for himself, and uses graffiti to do so. Just his luck, he gets caught and thrown on probation and has to complete a summers worth of community service where he begins to beef up, creating a new body image. Tyler begins to catch peoples eyes around school, including Bethany, the “it” girl of their high school and the girl of his dream. …show more content…
She invites him to a huge party after a football game on Halloween and he shows up late because he has to walk to get there. By the time he shows up Bethany is already wasted. At the party she begins to make moves on Tyler, but he doesn’t want advantage of her and does not go any further with it. She is furious and stomps away from him, calling him all sorts of names. The party soon escalates into a brawl. Tyler quickly finds Bethany and then sees his friend Chip slumped over in his car, so he drives them and his friend, Parker, home. During the drive, Parker and Bethany begin making out in the back of the truck. Tyler is beyond mad and tries to stop it, but they won't so he pulls off and leaves them in the driveway of Bethany's house and walks home from
