The second type of democracy that exists is a presidential democracy, which is the type of democracy that the United States has. A presidential democracy is “a system of government in which the powers of the president are constitutionally separate from those of the legislature” ("Presidential Government" 1). In a presidential democracy, the president “is head of state and leader of the government” (“Different Systems” 2-3).
