Sometimes insomnia can last only a few days and go away on its own especially, when it is obvious due to a certain event that is going to or might have happened in your life. For example a painful breakup or a up coming presentation that you have to do for your final grade in a class. Insomnia is usually tide to a psychological or medical issue. Psychological problems can cause the person to have anxiety and depression these are the two main causes of chronic insomnia.
Anyone can suffer from insomnia it is more common in women than in men, the elderly are more at risk for insomnia than the younger generation (Simon, H 2012).
