A couple hours go by and she finally comes to get me. “You’re going to love this place”! She says. I just look at her and roll my eyes like whatever. I wasn’t too worried about the group home my siblings were on my mind and I couldn’t stop thinking about them. When we made it to the group home I felt so out of place. Not knowing these people, being the “new girl “in the home and the only thing I had with me was my phone and my wallet. I didn’t have any clothes expect for the ones I had on so I had to get clothes out of the “clothes box “for that night and the next morning. Marquita told me she would be back to get me the next day so I could go get my stuff from my mom’s house. When we got in the car she looked at me and told me that my father wanted me to move in with him. I was shocked because I thought I was going to be in foster care forever. I told her I wanted to get out of foster care and if that was my way out I would move in with him. She explained it would take a while but I didn’t care. I wanted to get out. After we had that talk she placed me at a home in Tampa. My first week there I ran away for almost 2 days and didn’t get any sleep. When I returned to the group home I got into another fight. I didn’t get arrested and they gave me a second chance so I changed. Ms. Sonya (the lady over the group home) gave me a real talk and she knew I just had so much stuff kept inside that’s why I did the things I did.
