Two Short Answer Essays:
Our guest speaker Lisa McElfresh I thought was a great guest speaker. I think that having her as the first guest speaker for the class is very important. I found her presentation to be very influential, before seeing her presentation I was unaware of all the things that career service can do for you. I have made resumes before, but after having her presentation I was well informed on how it should look like, and what you should add to it. Lastly, I really enjoyed that she handed out packets on everything that she covered during her presentation. I thought that was very nice and convenient because now that I have the packet I can always refer to it when going over my resume. After her presentation I worked on my

She should be taking this class next fall, and there are several areas that I want to cover in order for her to succeed in this class. I think that having this class towards the end of your college career is very influential. It certainly helps the student review everything that they have learned about Organizational Leadership. Deanna, I think that in order to gain the best experience in this class that you need to attend each session. This class has a great deal to offer you so that you can succeed in the real world, and help you continue on your career path. Another thing you must remember is to have all the required text books for this class because throughout the class there are going to be groups that are going to cover and present to the class certain chapters of these books. Which brings me to my next piece of advice, if you have worked in a group before in another org. leadership class, then I suggest that you team up with someone in the class that you are comfortable, or familiar with. For me I did not have that privilege, it made teaming up with someone rather hard. Also not knowing that person, or the group made it hard to connect with each other because we did not have each other’s information. The best part about this class, I think was the guest speakers that came to present to the class. You should definitely be present for these presentations because they have a great

She did a great job in interacting with people whom she was interviewing as well as the invited guests. During, each break or pause I noticed that she would look over her script and prepare her thoughts before the next segment of the show. The most entertaining part of the show was when the group of young people from a reality show came as the show’s invited guests. The reason I found it entertaining was because I saw how in actuality everything was…

I really enjoyed the guest speaker, Cathleen Morgan and was quite impressed with her forsaking aspect of being on the board of education. She gave a new insight on the idea that we are no longer a minority and majority school district. Whites were truly the minority, of which 35% are Hispanics and 15% are black. The idea that teaching with these numbers is extremely hard to do and is a challenge. The challenge of experiencing a certain culture and gaining a new culture at the same time.…

I am so thankful to hear those guest speakers talk about their life stories, the struggles they went through to get to the place they are today, and the beautiful souls each speaker has. Every single guest speaker was delightful, but if I had to choose my favorite it would be Bambi Shen. Maybe it was the fact that she went into depth with her life story because she had more time to do so, but it was a very inspiring story and I am glad I had the chance to hear it. She made me open my eyes to never judge someone by their appearance. She even said a couple of times that although she may look Asian she is French on the inside.…

Friday and Wednesday’s gallery walk was a huge learning experience. I learned so much about topics that I didn’t know anything about like Kent State, The Space Race and the Gulf of Tonkin Incident. When I was presenting I loved seeing how interested people were in my topic as was I. People had so many questions and it was great to be able to know so much and answer them. My topic was the John F. Kennedy assassination.…

I really enjoyed having this class and found it very helpful in increasing my writing abilities. The unit 3 project and conference was different than anything I had done before, but at the same time useful and fun. I did my unit 3 project and final on false food advertising. I found this to be a very interesting topic as it is something I have always wondered about. My project was a PowerPoint which included examples, images, and facts about how companies and fast food chains falsely advertise their food products.…

So staying in the dorms was an interesting opportunity to really test my newfound patience. I also learned many valuable life lessons and received an abundance of helpful advice at SouthWestern Michigan College. Being proactive instead of reactive was one of the best sayings I ever heard in Business 201 – Principles of Management with Stacey Horner. This is one of the best classes I could recommend to anyone, reading “Who Moved My Cheese” is what in fact inspired me. Several other helpful classes I would recommend are; Educational Exploration, Intro to Computer Technology, Intro to Meetings and Events, Professionalism Workshop, Business Law I, Micro and Macro Economics, Human Resource Management, and Two Dimensional Design.…

“You’d make a great RA one-day Grant.” Stated my favorite teacher in high school. Because I really did not know the requirements and duties of a resident assistant, I started to look into it and realized that my personality really did fit with this job. In my opinion though, being a resident assistant would not even be seen as a job because I would enjoy it very much. During the end of September, I approached my resident assistant with all of my questions about trying to get this position.…

According to Boyles (2004), “teachers talk with students to monitor their progress as well as to set goals and help them solve problems” (p.75). Teachers should conduct writing conferences in order to assess and evaluate the writing progress of their students. The purpose of writing conferences is finding the strengths and weaknesses of their writing to improve and develop the skills the student already has. Depending on the students writing the teacher facilitates interventions to improve the students writing skills. Teachers should frequently plan writing conferences to check-in on their students and the progress they have made.…

Since I wasn't able to visit my eighth graders on our usual schedule (my teaching class had an in-class day to reconnect with each other and learn information for our teaching exam- sad face.) , I felt very happy to go visit my kids today! As I entered Ms. Fentress' room when her AI students were exiting, I realized that these kids are just like high school kids. One boy was jamming out to his music, and even rapped for his classmates. It's always funny to see how their distinct personalities intertwine with one-another to make it a friendly atmosphere.…

Throughout this Spring Semester we discussed many different social justice issues all completely different, but none the less important. Our class adapted a learning through discussion type of approach; rather than being lectured for three hours we all discussed different topics, had debates, asked questions, stated our opinions on controversial topics, etc. The class was intriguing making it one of my favorite classes to go to. A couple of the topics we discussed were human and sex trafficking, the difference between internalized dominance versus internalizing oppression, discrimination and racism. Human and sex trafficking are not something a lot of people know or hear much about besides what they see on law and order or CSI: Miami.…

Reflection About Classroom Teaching Experience Being an educator is a challenge and a new learning experience each time. As an educator, I am entrusted with the responsibility of shaping the way students think and feel in the classroom. I have always wanted to be an educator and share my experiences with the new generation of nurses. When I was assigned to work with professor Lynette Rayman to do my classroom teaching experience, I was thrilled because the topic I chose was chronic kidney disease which also happens to be my area of expertise. I had to incorporate my previous learning experiences to make my presentation lively.…
