Example 3A2: The second positive role model I observed was my friend, Harry. Harry is the assistant manager of his family’s property management business. It’s a job that requires him to communicate effectively both on the phone and in person with tenants. When it comes to the business side of things, Harry communicates in a very straightforward and no nonsense style. This is because he’s usually multitasking, and attempting to complete many different projects at once, so he has to be direct and to the point in order to save time. Instead of telling his tenants what they want to hear, he often gives them just the facts and nothing else. His speaking tone is assertive.
