I chose to do two non-written tickets because my students are pre-kindergarten and they do better with interactive play. I want to be sure that they all participate in this exit ticket. The class helper and I will demonstrate what they will be doing before beginning the activity.
Non-Written: I will give them a blank sheet of paper with some crayons for drawing and coloring. They will be asked to draw their favorite fruit and color it. When they are done, they will stand by their seat. Each person that stands will be connected with a partner, making them two. They will then share their picture with each other. The sharing time consist of them telling about the color of the fruit and why they like to eat it.
How will I assure that

On October 5, I did my first read aloud in a first grade classroom. The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry and The Big Hungry Bear is about a mouse who picks a fresh ripe strawberry from a tree. As he is picking the strawberry, an unknown narrator begins introducing the mouse to the story of the Big Hungry Bear. The narrator goes on to say that the Big Hungry Bear can smell the strawberry from a long distance, can recognize it anywhere and can even find the strawberry if it is hidden. Of course, the mouse is frightened.…

As Ravi and Joe are led though a series of misjudging and being rude to each other, it seems as if they both don’t get each other in any way. One lyric in Nowhere Man by The Beatles states, “ He’s a real nowhere man.” This line of lyrics connects to Save Me A Seat because when Ravi walks inside his teacher’s classroom, he states that Joe is stupid, and doesn’t think he is popular; or a nowhere man. Also, another lyric says,“ Doesn’t have a point of view.” When Ravi states the rude comment, Joe soon is thinking, and realizes how Ravi doesn’t know what he is going through, and how smart he really is.…

In the Pre-K classroom that I observed it consisted of several different centers for the children to participate in, such as: block area, dramatic play, art, library, sand/water table, music/movement, sensory area, finger painting, play dough, and the students got the opportunity to make their own snacks. Not only did the students get to participate in centers, they had the opportunity each day to go outside and play on the playground as well as having an interactive lecture every morning at circle time and when the students sat down at their tables to do their daily worksheet. I believe that the Pre-K class I observed was a mix between traditional teaching as well as constructivism, creating a balance between the two. In the morning during circle time, the teacher would “lecture” the students with the letter of the day, go over the date, months, days of the week, shapes, and the numbers up to the date it currently was.…
