2. Family plays a big role in our culture, and culture influences our perspective. The way one is taught or brought up could maybe influence one thinks about he/she culture. For example in the novel excerpt, ‘’Two kinds’’ Amy Tan, the main character in this novel is rebelling against her mother. Her mother seems to be very controlling, which could shape amy’s perspective of other family cultures. “Those who are obedient and those who follow their own mind! Ethnicity Influences our perspectives. In the essay “An Indian Father’s Plea’’, by Robert Lake, in this essay Robert the father of windwolf. Windwolf is an Indian kid and is being bullied because he is different from others. Windwolf struggles with school, because in his Indian culture he is taught different. For example in the essay, Robert states that ‘’He may have trouble writing his name on a piece of paper, but he knows how to say it and many other things in several different Indian languages’’.
