Two Kind Words

It is often said that if you cannot say anything nice, then do not say anything at all. This applies to many circumstances and many different people. A young girl sits with her drawing book open; sketching the sky and it's many inhabitants. A group of boys walk by and snicker at her scrambled lines and splashes of color. Suddenly the girl becomes embarrassed and begins to question her artistic abilities. Another girl skips right up to the girl and praises her fluffy clouds and red robins. A weight falls off the girl's shoulders and her confidence is restored. "Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless." I truly believe that offering a few kind words to someone changes their entire day. When someone has had a rough day and feel worthless, a quick compliment or praise can really turn their day around. Mother Teresa once said "kind words can be short to speak, but their echoes are truly endless", put simply, Mother Teresa was saying that it is easy to offer someone a kind word that will stick with them for along time. When I compliment a girl on her outfit or a boy on his hair I can see the happiness that sparks in their eyes.
