There are two forms of Chronemics. Polychronic is where are culture views time as flexible and is not on a set schedule. Monochronic cultures are very timely and want set schedules and keep on set time frames. When I first came to Hawaii, I was staying at a hotel with my mom for vacation. We signed up to take a tour bus to the other side of the island. The tour was supposed to pick us up at 6am. We got up early so that we were earlier to the pickup point. The tour bus did not come pick us up until about 7:30 am the bus driver laughed when we asked him if we had the wrong time, he just said that we were on island time.
