Among the many similarities that Buddhism and Christianity share, both were founded by spiritual masters who accepted disciples. Just as Jesus spotted Zacchaeus and invited him into his inner circle, it is said that the Buddha was also gifted with preternatural insight into character.
We can see an example of this insight in a well-known Buddhist parable. It tells of a rich man, who would invite all the Brahmans to his house and give them gifts while sacrificing to the gods.

Christians also believe that the best way to overcome hate and suffering is to show love. As it says in Romans 12:21, “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” It is a common Christian belief that all evil should be repaid with love and kindness.
Jesus was the perfect example of this, as even as he hung on the cross paying for our sins, he looked up to heaven and asked God to forgive the men who had moments earlier nailed him to cross. Therefore, Christianity and Buddhism are similar in the shared belief that love and kindness can and will change the world.
An important difference between Christianity and Buddhism is their differing views on reincarnation or rebirth. Buddhists believe that we are all linked together in an endless chain that reaches back into the past, and out into the future.
Not only do Buddhism and Christianity differ in their views on reincarnation, but they also differ in their approach to divine authority or a supreme being. Buddhists do not believe in a creator god but choose instead to follow the path of a finite man, Siddhartha Gautama.
