Diversity is the attributes pertinent to an individual in which reinforces the perception that the individual is different to other individuals (De Janasz, Dowd, & Schneider, 2015). Being a registered nurse I encounter patient diversity every single day I go to work. I have taking any diversity classes at the hospital in order to increase my awareness of diversity and properly manager diversity. Therefore, the area that I am most strong is understanding gender differences, male and female patients have different ways of communicating, as well different ways of relating. One reason I got into nursing was that as experience nurse, one could get a contract with a travel nursing agency. This, will allow me to travel around the United States, and the world, being exposed to new cultures and learning thru each new experience. It will also allow me to be learn more about certain cultures such a nonverbal communication, probably learning a new language. This will allow me to grow in my diversity understanding other cultures differences. It will also allow me to provide better patient understand my patient and allow me to provide better patient care. In 2012 two I travelled to Asia, I spent a whole month in the Philippines. I learned an abundant amount of Filipino culture, which is very similar to that of Hispanic culture, and also the Filipino language “Tagalog.” This has allow me to have better relationship and understanding to those individuals of Filipino
