I wake up one cool, breezy morning, the sun glittering outside and the branches on the trees dancing in the wind. I stretch my legs in turn and walk out of my den. I pad over to Snowpaw and bow to her. “Hello Snowpaw,” I purr. “Hello Twistedpaw!” Snowpaw giggles. “W-what’s so funny?” I question, pondering about any humorous events that have recently occurred. She keeps laughing-it is not the first time. She snickers along, staring at me with twinkling eyes. “Your name, silly!” “Hey, what’s so amusing about my name?” “Well, do you have a twisted paw?” “No, in fact I don’t! It’s just a name! It’s not like you have a snow paw!” “But your name could be Twistedfoot! Or…or…” “Or Twistedheart,” Amberpaw rumbles. She sits down next to Snowpaw and grins. …show more content…
Amberpaw shrugs. “Medicine cats know all.” “My name will not be Twistedheart! My life is perfectly fine! Besides, that is a stupid answer!” “Oh really? Your life is perfectly fine? Well, Fawnleap’s brother died a few days after you were born. So did your brother and, in fact, medicine cats do know all,” Amberpaw snaps. “I don’t want to talk about Finchkit,” I mumble. “Exactly, because I am right,” Amberpaw states. “Ok, I get it!” I growl. I whirl around and storm out of camp. Talking about Finchkit gets me very irritated. It wasn’t his fault he died, and nor was it mine. I still grieve him to this day.
