Twins are alike in many ways but why? Is it in their nature, nurture, or because they spend so much time together? But what if two twins where adopted but two different families, taken out of the country they were born in, and where raised in two different countries. Are they alike then? In this journal they researched this with two twin girls. Both were born in South Korea but one was adopted by couple that lived in the United States. The other was adopted by a couple that lived in France. They did not know each other existed until they were twenty-five years old when they were both working on a Life History Documentary. The twin in who lived in France, her friend saw the other on YouTube and noticed they looked alike. The twins later contacted each other on Facebook for the first time on February 21, 2013. They made note that the twin from France was fluent in English but the studies were done in French whenever possible. They began with looking at the girl’s life history from the age each one was adopted, family circumstances, and educational background. Medical history was looked at by their illness, injures and hospitalization. For cognitive measures they were tested about a week apart from each other using the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-IV. Then went on to take a special mental ability test. Personality and self-esteem was measured by taking many different test. The first was Personality for Professionals Inventory, Adjective Checklist, 60-item NEO-PI-R, and lastly the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale. Job satisfaction was measured by taking the Minnesota Job Satisfaction Questionnaire. They also did a videotaped interview with each of the girls.
