3) INEXPERIENCED OFFICERS, A HIGH OPERATIONAL PACE, AND ASSOCIATED HIGH STANDARDS OF ACHIEVEMENT ENCOURAGE SENIOR OFFICERS TO BE MORE DIRECTIVE IN THEIR LEADERSHIP AND LESS TOLERANT OF THEIR MISTAKES.

4) LACK OF TRUST BETWEEN JUNIOR AND SENIOR OFFICERS- BECAUSE THERE IS A STRONG PERCEPTION BY JUNIOR LEADERS THAT THEIR SENIOR LEADERS WANT TO BE INVULNERABLE TO CRITICISM AND THERFORE USE MICROMANAGEMENT TO BLOCK OPPURTUNITIES TO LEARN LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCES.

ACCORDING TO THE AUTHOR THERE IS A VERY LITTLE OTHER GUIDANCE IN THE MANUAL, OR IN THE ARMY LITERATURE THAT REALLY GETS TO THE MEAT OF LEARNING ORGANIZATION- A CLEAR DOCRINAL SHORTFALL FOR THE ARMY.

THE AUTHOR RECOMMENDED THAT, BRIGADE AND BATTALLION COMMANDERS NOT ONLY NEED TO KNOW THAT ARMY LEADERS ARE EXPECTED TO WELCOME CHANGE AND LEARNED FROM THEIR EXPERIENCES, THEY NEED TO KNOW HOW TO CREATE A CLIMATE THAT ENCOURAGE CHANGE AND LEARNING.
