Orsino’s words were empty and cliche coming from Duke Orsino, but to Olivia, the words from Cesario felt sincere. Having someone be sincere was uncommon back then and Olivia quickly fell in love with Cesario. Most men were only looking for beautiful women with lots of money. The men didn’t seem to care if they actually loved the women they would marry, if it benifited them then it didnt matter. So when Olivia heard, “love can only be recompensed if you were crowned as the most beautiful woman in the world”, and the words felt sincere, she fell in love instantly. She loved Cesario so much that, when Sebastian showed up, “nay; come, I prithee; would thou’dst be ruled by me”, Olivia says before having her and Sebastian married. When she figured out she didn't marry Cesario, she was happy about it, hoping that it would be the same. One might think that it seems that the characters in this book do not know their way around
