As I passed the end line, I turned to face the court and began my pre-serve routine. The referee blew his whistle. Tweeet. I tossed the volleyball and swung. When the play was over, I went over to my teammate, “Oh my god, I am so sorry!” She obviously did not care for my apology due to the fact we were never on good terms. This one point in our final match of the tournament grew the fire that could not be blown out.
In the beginning, I decided not to worry about my teammates and focused on my skills and techniques, but as the season progressed, the level of play continued to be uninspiring.
