An airplane of TWA Flight 847 from Athens to Rome is hijacked by terrorists. The terrorists which was armed with grenades and pistol, has forced the plane to land in Lebanon. Once on the ground, the hijackers called for passengers with Israeli passports, but none of the passengers were. Upon landing, the terrorists killed a Navy diver, whose body was later dumped on the runway. The act of an employee of the hijacked flight was successful in protecting the few Jewish passengers aboard by refusing to identify them. Most of the passengers were released from the 17-day ordeal, but five men were picked out and separated from the rest of the hostages.
On June 30, after a careful negotiation, the hostages were released unharmed. It appeared that the terrorists will roam free and avoided punishment as the they were far from the law’s reach in Lebanon. However, a terrorist named Mohammed Ali Hammadi, who are wanted for his role in the attack, was arrested only after two years at an airport in Frankfurt, Germany, armed and dangerous with explosives.

There are articles aims to shed light on the tense relationships between government, media, and terrorists. Through close analysis of irresponsible actions by some media outlets in crisis situations in the United States, country such as U.K., Israel, Canada, and Germany agree that important lessons should be learned, illustrating the need to develop a set of guidelines for responsible media coverage on terror attack.
