You just realized your remote on your TV died. You went to turn your flashlight on and it's dead. Your now at the store standing staring at the large display of AA batteries. Theres so many different brands out there to pick one. Have you ever wonder which one is the best and which could last the longest, i did. So I decided to run two test to see which one that may be. My first thought was why not just go to the dollar store and get a pack of AA's there. how different can they be. i figured they just might beat the top name brands out that you pay double or even triple for in price. CVS also carries their own brand too, so I decided to try two top brands, a CVS and a Dollar Store brand. My intial prediction was that CVS would outlast all …show more content…
I also made a battery test kit using 1 AA battery of each brand. Each test was ran in the same room side by side. The tempature of the room was a constant 69 degrees. There was noting to interfere or change the outcome of the test being done. The first night the flashlight test was started all the flashlights were turned on at the same time. The video was started and ran until the next morning- it was then turned off and restarted that evening where we could see if any changes happened over night. The entire length of the test last nearly 107 hours. Each night after 9pm the video was turned on to track it's progress on all the flashlights. Then each morning it would be turned off. The dollar store battery only lasted a little over 82 hours. CVS only lasted 3 hours later. proving my theory that it could outlast the others was wrong. The engergizer was not far behind and died after 90 hours and 47 minutes. The battery that outlasted them all was the Duracell. It continue to shine for 106 hours and 52 minutes. The test took 5 days in full.
The battery test kit test did not take long at all to watch the progress. The entire time took 17 hours. Within the first 5 hours of the running the test the Dollar store dimmed out after 3 hours and 47 minutes. the Duracell believe it or not died after 4 hours and 32 minutes. The video was then turned on over night that we could view the changes that would occur. At 5:23am the day after the test started the CVS battery died. The Energizer came out on top after 17 hours and 50

As a small group of the class, we were put together to test one person's heart rate, temperate and breathing rate of the group. By this the subject (person doing the test and being monitored on) would be doing the harvard step test. The harvard step test was simple and effective to do to find out the heart rate, breathing rate and body temperature. In the small groups, we decided to do the experiment on stairs so the subject would simply step up one step and then step down again, and they would repeatively do this for 5 minutes, rest for 5 and then do it again another 2 times.…

Next, place the four sowbugs on the right side of the clear, plastic box to get ready to begin the experiment and place the 14 cm cardboard inside the box and close to the vertical, right side of the box to hold back the sowbugs before starting the timer. One of you must turn on the lamp and started the timer, while the other person quickly pulls up the 14 cm cardboard out of the box at the same exact time as the other person starts the timer and turns on the lamp. This way the data collected would be more accurate and this minimized the chance of error. Once the timer stops, quickly…

In this experiment, the student determined two significant sources of experimental errors: Drop in Volts. Most of the experiments are conducted on Genesys20 Spectrophotometer, which works from the electrical network; all of its components are calculated for certain number of Volt. If this machine has a lack or excess of power, the experiment results a possible failure from the “true” values. Unqualified manufacturing of graduation on the glassware surface.…

Graph 2 displays the averages of the reaction time which showed the higher the water temperature is, the faster the reaction time would be. At 65⁰C the average time for the Alka-Seltzer to completely dissolve was 1 minute 4 seconds followed by 1 minute 20 seconds at 35⁰C and ending with the highest average at 2 minutes 1 second (1.61). The hypothesis stated that hot water temperature would make the Alka-Seltzer tablet dissolve the fastest.…

The results from the experiment generally show the trials with full light intensity to have produced more oxygen, showing the elodea samples to have photosynthesised more than the lower light intensity trials. Trials 1 and 2 were in water bath 1 with full light intensity, whereas Trials 3 and 4 were in water bath 2, with lower light intensity. Experimental error caused the trials with the lower light intensity to be disrupted, and no data was collected for these trials on Day 8 of the experiment. Figure 5 shows the daily volume of oxygen produced by the elodea in each trial. A linear trend line was added to the data using Microsoft Excel.…

These errors may range from human errors to equipment errors. Internal resistance within the voltmeter may cause a reduction in measured voltage values thereby giving voltage results that are too low or too high. These result influence the overall E cell value rendering results incorrect. Corrosion on the alligator clip that was used could prevent consistent contact of the electrode thereby giving fluctuating results throughout the experiment. Electrode touching the salt bridge in the beaker while a measurement was taken can also influence the measured voltage by the voltmeter.…
