Tests are worth 40% of your grade,so if the scores go up the grades in the class will go up. If they review the things that students find the hardest they could get everybody to pass. State test like benchmarks and SOLS are always stressed so with school being longer students could learn everything needed. The higher the grades the better chance a student will get into college.

The final and most important reason to add time would be so students could get tutored. Tutoring in school is a really good idea because a lot of students struggle in at least one or more subjects. Some of the kids that needs help parents can’t afford a good tutor or the child doesn’t retain information well with them. In-school tutoring will give students a good chance in receiving a better education.

Extra time in school seems like a lot especially a whole hour and a half. You probably see it as a waste of time, but it’ll further your education. More time means teachers can get all their students to where each students get honor roll or at least pass. How you do now in school now determines what careers you can choose from. The time doesn’t even have to be where you do a lot of extra work. Anaheim High School isn’t at its best anyone can notice the more time we need in classes for better grades. Other schools would notice this as well or have the same problem, Anaheim’s grades aren’t the best and or is the knowledge at Anaheim High School. The only thing seen is needing improvement on is the school hours and the reason why I mention this is because teachers know this is true. Students need time to learn even though there are those quick learners but there is also those that struggle. Within the story Marita's Bargain by Malcolm Gladwell a fictional genre it mentions “Higher test scores only come by taking time to study and understand the work” this is a fact that schools must take notice about, even if the schools are either…

I don’t think teenagers need that extra 45 minutes to help them with any of their academic or social choices because the later they start school the more possibilities they might not go. Also with the later class, teens get out of school later and gives them less time to socialize with friends or family or even having physical activities because their day ends a lot faster. With this new time start, many different organizations will be affected. It may affect families because they have less time with their teen kids.…

In the article, “Should School Start Later” by Justin O’Neill, he writes about how if school times change to be later, the kids will benefit greatly in school and at home. O’Neill wrote that kids would be more alert when in school, or at home. To start, he wrote that kids would be alert and more awake. Since they are more alert, they have a better chance at getting good grades and less detention or other punishments from older figures such as parents, teachers, or principals. High school students are expected to sit through 7 hours of instruction, complete 2-4 hours of homework, have a social life, be active in their family, and get the recommended 8-10 hours of sleep all in one day. Now with studies showing teenagers experience a change in their internal clocks, there has to be some adjustment made. Students are having a harder time waking up and falling asleep early enough to be prepared for school. To help students cope with this change in their internal clocks; high schools should begin later, and end later in the day. Hearing an alarm clock go off at 6:30 in the morning is an awful and discouraging sound.…

Many students feel that they are simply too tired to focus on their daily coursework. This is due to their lack of sleep. Early school start times prevent students from getting the 8-11 hours of sleep children and teenagers really need. Some people argue that school should not start later, but I strongly believe that the school 's start time should be pushed back towards 9 a.m. This additional hour will allow students to have a good night 's rest which will increase their probabilities of academic and social success as well as increased health.…

The school day should not change their time later in the day. There may be really good pros to the idea, but there are also plenty of cons for delaying the school start times. These cons can affect both students and the teachers.…
