The final project consisted of using a culmaliation of skills obtained throughout the semester thus far with both Case Study One and Two. Picking the Tuscon Mountain Retreat that utilized Rammed Earth as the Primary wall structure, a detailed process section was developed and the material composition was traced back to the original source. Speaking directly with the developing firm, the material make-up was broken into three main components, the aggregate (Southwest Bedding and Pipe Shading,) the binder (Portland Cement,) and the pigment to change the color (Iron Oxide Powder.)
