Turtle’s Adventure

Long before today, when the earth was untainted by the clatter and clamor of humans, animals lived in peace. There was harmony among all living creatures and everyone mattered. Everyone in the forest had a place and they were all happy. Turtle was one of these creatures who lived in peace and was always happy. He was average in size and closely resembled a lizard in all aspects of his physical appearance. “Look at Turtle go,” the other forest animals would say in awe as he sprinted by. There was darkness and nothing else, just darkness. The mountains melted away behind him as he was enveloped completely in the nothingness of Unknown that surrounded him. He couldn’t see anything at all. There were no stars and there was no moon, only darkness. Turtle was afraid. He wandered through the darkness hoping for anything to happen. Slowly, Turtle reached his hand into the soft earth and emerged with a handful of …show more content…

First, Rain Spirit pounded down on the rock trying to erode and crack it, but it was no use. Then, Snow Spirit tried to freeze and break the rock so that it would fall off and crash into a million pieces, but to no avail. Next, Sun Spirit shone down on the rock with all of her power trying to melt it, but her attempts were futile. Finally, Wind Spirit blew as hard as she could on the rock trying to knock it off, but it did not work. The rock remained. That night, they healed all of the wounds that had been inflicted on Turtle by the rock and from his dangerous journey. All of his cuts, bruises, and scratches were soon gone by the magic of the Spirits. They then worked together to strengthen him. Their combined magic helped to strengthen and support him. The next morning the spirits woke Turtle up loudly, as they were wont to
