Memories of turkey season

All hunters around Hector have been looking forward for April 15, which is the first day of turkey season! It brings families and friends together, and makes special memories.
Here are a few that come to mind, my uncle/father “my favorite part of turkey hunting is hearing that first big tom of the day gobbling head off. My favorite memories are hunting with my kids and Jake/dad, seeing the smile on y'alls face my every dollar and hour spent worth it.” Here is a local kid from Hector high school Travis Haston “ my favorite part of turkey hunting is hearing that turkey gobble. My favorite memory is when my dad and I went to Texas turkey hunting, we heard the turkey gobble and we sit the decoy out by a cattle rail.

My First Deer One brisk 30 degree day in January, when I was nine years old, was a day for which I was extremely excited. My dad got me out of school earlier that day, so we could go deer hunting. I had already shot a turkey the year before, so guns were nothing new to me. At this point we did not have the hunting land that we do today, so we went to my grandpa’s house and hunted in the clearing of trees behind his house.…
