He was arrest several times on assault charges. On November 18, 1993, Tupac was arrested for sexual abuse. The victim was
a nineteen year old woman he met in a nightclub. He was sentenced to four years, but was released early after only being in prison for a few months. (Montaldo Charles). Tupac's lyrics featured many controversial topics like racism, poverty, and violence. He gained a lot of his popularity from the explicit topics he talked about in his music. He gained as many critics as he did fans from his lyrics. One of his biggest opposers was Vice President Dan Quayle. He stated There is no room for this type of thing in our society". (Williams McKinley). On November 30, 1994 Tupac was shot by two armed robbers while working on his third album, "Me Against the World". He was seriously wounded, but he survived. Two years later in Las Vegas on September 7, 1996 Tupac was caught on tape in the lobby of the MGM Grand hotel in a violent dispute with a member of the Los Angeles-based Bloods street gang. A few hours later Tupac was riding passenger in a car when another car pulled up to them at a red light and opened fire. Tupac succumbed to his injuries six days later. (Tupac Shakur
