I grew up in a neighborhood where laughter, smiles, happiness, hope and police presence was just as rare as finding a four-leaf clover. Naturally, given the circumstances, I grew up witnessing fights and listening to hip hop music, where the theme of a song often talked about getting revenge on a certain individual or group.
