Your book holler if you hear me has taught me a lot about life in many ways.It had me wondering what would Tupac do if he was in my shoes. And it also reminded me to be grateful because in the book it talks about how Tupac's mom was addict to drugs and how he had to move house to house a lot compared to him I a had an amazing life I had to parents who were there for me and a mom that was not addicted to drugs. But on the other hand made me realize if that you work hard and be grateful for the thing that you have should be ale to succeed.I know me Tupac come from two different worlds but inside I know we come from the same world just living in different worlds.

In some parts of the book, it hit me hard , so hard that it almost made me want

Reading the book, The New Jim Crow: Mass incarceration in the age of colorblindness brought attention to several different injustices that minorities face daily. It shuns light on how the African American community has been stereotyped and systematically program to dismantle the African American male figure within the family dynamics. According to Michelle Alexander Obama stated that too many fathers are AWOL, MIA and neglecting their responsibilities, which had cause the family to be weaker (Alexander, 2010,p ). However with the system continuously oppressing the African American male this is yet another way to belittle and emasculate this population.…

Since my first biology class in the eighth grade, the words “survival of the fittest” have embedded themselves within the folds of my brain. After being enchanted by Darwin’s research and brilliance, I never once doubted that phrase. Like any enlightening and thought provoking book does, however, “Survival of the Sickest” by Sharon Moalem, revolutionized my view of science and biology. This book must be read by anyone who has any interest in themselves or the world. Dr. Moalem explores the complex relationships between evolution, disease, and longevity in a way that begs the audience to never be content with our knowledge of medicine and biology.…

On September 7, 1996, Shakur was leaving a boxing match only to find himself fatally caught up in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas. Hurried to a nearby hospital, Shakur was in a serious state of haemorrhaging; his mother Afeni Shakur pleaded the doctor to stop operating after blood loss became too severe. Six days later, he was declared dead after being diagnosed with respiratory failure and cardiopulmonary arrest, at only 25 years-old.…

Jenee Desmond – Harris wrote an article called “Tupac and My Non-thug Life,” which was published in an online article called The Root. The title of this article seems very contradictory and that is because it is. This article is about how Desmond – Harris, as a young privileged half white, half black teenage girl, finds herself trying to embody Tupac after his death. The contradiction of this is that Desmond-Harris did not relate to Tupac in the ways of how they grew up. Desmond – Harris had yet to confront any of life’s hard edges when Tupac had passed.…

Tupac Shakur was born in 1971 in New York to two Black Panther activists; you could say social justice ran in his blood. Tupac grew up surrounded by poverty, drugs, and crime but wanted to make a better life for himself, so he did. He became a rapper and in his songs and lyrics he would talk about social issues, for example “Brenda’s Got a Baby” is a song about teen pregnancy and the inability to raise a child, and “Dear Mama”, a song where Tupac discusses poverty and drug addiction in his family. Another example is “Changes”. Tupac’s “Changes” is about the mistreatment of African Americans with references to police brutality and and the War on Drugs that uses a piano melody for reflective tone and is a relevant song for today because these…

There is one artist that was inspiring enough to become a hologram. His music told the tale of a broken man trying to find his way in a cold-hearted world and dealing with the harsh realities of life. The great artist of this tale “Only god can judge me” is Tupac Shakur. Tupac experienced the economic struggles at a young age, growing up in New York and California. Tupac’s use of figurative language in the song “Only god can judge me” proves the theme of judgment and how an individual and his God can judge his past actions.…
