To begin, I find it necessary to give you a brief history of Toronto’s first transportation company. Toronto's first public transportation company was the Williams Omnibus Bus Line. This bus line carried passengers …show more content…
Let me start by explaining the things I said before like why it costs so much or why it takes so long to get to the train station or bus stop. First and foremost, I will talk about why it takes so long to get to the train station or bus stop. Although the bus and the train take so long to get to the station and the stop, it is not the train operators or the bus driver's fault. The TTC runs on a schedule, the TTC tries to get to the place it's supposed to get on time, which may get there on time or not, that depends on the traffic which is just like when you drive a car, it is going the exact same speed as any other car but just carries many more people. Next I will talk about the reason why buses cost so much, they, just like cars, they need gas and maintenance and to carry the people who go onto the TTC. They need to be taken care of to carry the people around the city, and the people have to pay so the TTC will be able to carry you around the city and be safe. If you think about it the TTC is cheaper than driving a car, because when you buy a car it is a lot of money, then you have to pay continuously for insurance, maintenance and gas, which will cost way more than paying a tiny amount of money to go on the TTC which takes you a very far distance and you only have to pay once to go on. Without people paying, the TTC wouldn’t be there at all, it would be out of service and many people wouldn’t have a faster way of transportation. As a matter of fact …show more content…
Let me explain, one reason is you save money like I explained before where you don’t spend that much money by only paying a little money to go on the TTC, instead of paying so much money on a car. You could also save the environment by taking the bus which I also explained before there would be less pollution in the air, ground and water. Since there would be less cars on the road there would be less accidents, which is great because less people will be hurt, and killed. The TTC prices are equitable because the kids from 12 and under get on to the TTC free because they can’t get that much money, teens from 13-19 and seniors 65+ pay $2.10 because they don’t have as much income as adults 20-64 who work full-time or part-time, that is why adults pay $3.25. There are so many more reasons why the TTC is great but i can’t name them all that is why I am stopping
