Trust is highly valued in our society today and affects all different ages. Trust is crucial in every relationship whether it is a friendship, romantic or family relationship: “If you cannot trust in anything, life becomes intolerable—a constant battle against paranoia and looming disaster”(Savage). Trust is the reason for most of the problems in our lives now a day. The formal definition of trust is the firm belief in the integrity, ability, or character of a person or thing; confidence or reliance (“Trust”). Trust has different meanings depending on people’s experiences. Trust is similar to respect, which one as to earn to receive it in return. Everyone has heard the cliche saying “No on can be trusted”, but even though that may be a common saying no matter what trust is essential to our daily lives.

It is a foundation for a stable supportive family. In most cases, they are the ones who have raised us and unconditionally love us. Family always sticks together and we never want to let them down. Parents being able to trust us is important, for instance, your parents trust us when we tell them we are going somewhere and that we are not lying. Kids always trust their parents from the time that they are born to the time they are grown adults. Kids trust that their parents will alway be honest and do what is best for them. A child always trusts and believes their parents the most because they are the ones that first showed them this very important quality. Not having trust in a household can make one feel as a stranger or outsider, whereas being able to trust in a family brings everyone closer together. Trust in a family relationship can also be one doing what is best for the whole family and not being selfish by only benefiting
