Trump's Argument Analysis

Improved Essays
Many world leaders are still adjusting to a new head of America, Mr. Donald Trump. Worldwide, leaders have especially not been fond of Trump's hate towards immigrants and refugees, even putting out an executive order that caused an 90-day ban on travel to the U.S. from people of supposedly terrorist countries, Iraq, Iran, Syria, and Sudan to name just a few. The most interesting reaction, however; was when Pope Francis, the current head of the Catholic church, spoke subtly about Trump's decision. Every month, Pope Francis calls on Catholics and anyone willing to pray for a specific world concern. This month, he called for prayer for "poor, refugees, and marginalized" to find “welcome and comfort in our communities.” The pope is known for being a large promoter of peace among …show more content…
The article was written well, and was short and precise. It told exactly what was expected from the words of not only the pope, but people under the prayers of the pope and the church in general. The tone was serious, and objective, not stating any quote or event that is not fact. The author does not seem to chose a side, he/she just researched to see what the pope has said about these things before, and based a reaction off of that fact. The article as if it is missing something, most likely more explanation from Trump's side or perhaps more quotes from his point of view. Overall the article is extremely well-written, it shows the Christian side of recent politics without combining church and state. It manages to give a religious leaders perspective without the religious leader criticizing the political leader: the pope simply asks the world to pray for world leaders and for immigrants and refugees

Pope Francis added his voice to the capitalism debate with his Apostolic Exhortation, "Evangelii Gaudium" published in November of 2013. It is based on "the church's primary mission of evangelization in the modern world." In this slamming rebuke against capitalism he describes this as being the "new tyranny," and asks for better politicians who can heal the scars that capitalism has made on society. Capitalism promotes inequality in a way that if left unchecked allows the rich to become increasingly wealthy without benefitting society and only increases the gap between the rich and the poor. Many of the issues Francis brings up portray the current happenings of our society and most of these have been inspired by issues surrounding the ideas…
