Trump Syllogism

Decent Essays
In the first Republican debate, the klieg light that Donald Trump always carries around with him revealed four or five presidential candidates who, under the right circumstances, could beat Hillary Clinton.

The single most important event of the campaign so far was Trump raising his hand and refusing to commit to the eventual GOP nominee.

Trump's actual performance in the debate demonstrated the real reason he will flame out.

The Trump syllogism: Every politician is bought by billionaires.

In a parliamentary system, Trump might found his own party and win a few seats in the legislature.

As a third-party candidate, Trump could easily tip a close election to Clinton.

So Trump's inevitable self-marginalization must be given a push.

Frequently, Trump personally attacks fellow candidates on issues that are completely irrelevant to the debate, such as Marco Rubio’s height. Consequently, Trump’s antics and his opponents’ reactions make the Republican debates memorable, reducing the amount of time and media coverage that could have been used to discuss serious issues plaguing our nation, such as poverty and gender inequality. The political debates are platforms in which citizens can decide which candidate’s policies they prefer, however, people derive entertainment from them, shown by how people make jokes about the debates such as #Trumpface, comparing Trump’s facial expressions to emojis, which trended on Twitter, rather than information pertaining to the stances presented. Aforementioned, Trump received more coverage, especially evening news weighing in with 54 percent of the coverage from ABC, NBC, and FOX, than any other candidate. The lack of reportage of the alternative contenders mostly affects the majority of younger voters who are Democratic or independent.…

I believe that having a third party candidate can be a good way to express concerns and ideas to the two major parties. Jeffrey W. Koch, a chairman of the political science and international relations department at State University of New York, speaks about how third parties are important to politics. He claims that third parties are a great way to express the concern of the people to the major parties. “The emergence of a strong third party challenge provides the major parties with information about the electorate that may prompt them to re-define themselves.” This shows the importance of having a third party, as it shows what voters want.…

Liberals are already in shock. There is a level of incredulity that far surpasses their puzzlement at the election and re-election of GW and Cheney. Moderate liberals, who believe that socioeconomic change happens gradually and with compromise, are already wondering what has happened to the entire federal government. Also, Democrats (not all of whom are "Liberals") tend to believe that all people should be treated with respect. In fact, they pretty much assume that's obvious.…

There are two different systems of a democratic government, parliamentary and presidential, which are seen in multiple countries across the world. World powers such as the Canada and the United Kingdom thrive with their parliamentary system while the United States of America has shown stability and power with their presidential system. This paper will compare and contrast the two democratic systems, discuss the benefits and critiques of each and finally examine why…
