Trump: A Short Story

We had been waiting in a line that stretched around an entire city block. Two hours and one security pat down later, we made our way the arena - where we heard yelling from the outside. Perched from atop the second level seats, surrounded by 13,000 other people, he appeared to be a stubby, red-faced troll – almost as if someone had replaced the head on a manikin with an orange beach ball, and adorned it with a mop head. His name was Donald John Trump, or, as some, I soon discovered, prefer to call him, “Our Lord and Savoir Jesus Trump.” The crowd relished every word he said. I was bewildered, as lines such as “Rubio is a total lightweight, and his hair isn’t better than mine” produced standing ovations that spread across the room like wildfire. With the amount of sitting and standing done at that rally, it might as well have been called ‘Aerobics with Trump.’ After every statement and declaration came standing and jumping applause (and, …show more content…
Standing and leaning possibly too far over the second-level railings, I could see the evolving situation. A tall, dark skinned man was standing on his seat towards the front of the rally, holding a sign reading “Trump’s a racist” as he yelled the same message. The surrounding supporters begin to scream profane and racist remarks, clawing at the man until he fell off his chair. Swiftly intercepted by security, the man was paraded down the rally isles towards the back doors. The man sitting next to me stood up, moved up against the railings, and, with both middle fingers promptly in use, screamed “we don’t need your kind here” – which prompted applause and cheer. I sat puzzled. But not to worry! The aggravating woman seated behind me began to chant “USA! USA! USA!” Like a cold on an airplane, the chant infected the arena. In a matter of seconds, 13,000 people, and, even trump himself, had joined

Political journalist, Fred Barnes, in his journal, “Trump Gains When He Stays in the Background”, analyzes Trump’s pattern to gaining in the polls. Barnes’ purpose is to indicate what causes Trump to fall behind Clinton in the polls and then how he redeems himself to get ahead of her again. He adopts an unbiased tone in order to appeal to both sides in his adult readers. Barnes’ uses dashes, talks about how Trump falls behind and gets back up again in each paragraph in order to illustrate what pattern could help Trump win the presidency over Clinton, and uses syntax. Barnes begins his writing by acknowledging that when Trump is in the spotlight of the media, he falls behind in the polls and it’s when he stays in the background that he pulls through it.…

The primary audience in the VICE Charlottesville video is anyone who is willing to listen and realize there is a problem in Charlottesville and our nation today. Christopher Cantwell discusses how he is willing to be violent, doesn’t care about people’s feelings, and wants the country to be racist. The key arguments of the antifa are they tried to stop the white supremacist group from coming and they were ignored. This video’s tone was depressing and upsetting because it displayed the hatred that people are capable of. Some prominent voices within our community make the persuasive case that Mr. Trump does not even have the mental capability to successfully wrap his little mind around what it means to struggle or simply to empathize with people who struggle on a daily basis. Other people within our community view him as ignorant and immature, and do not believe his policies are created to be of any benefit to people like us. Because many of us do not stand behind his actions or statements, we therefore protest, lobby and boycott. But after all of this we must again ask ourselves, “what do we really…

I remember when Donald Trump first announced his political run for office. He built his campaign on the slogan: We’re going to Make America Great Again, “reinforced” by his bold claim of “building a wall”. When Trump got down into the weeds with Megyn Kelly during the first Fox News Republican debate, I sensed Donald Trump was a proud and arrogant man. I went on my own campaign against him; making phone calls, writing emails, calling news agencies and talk shows, posting madly to Facebook — whatever I could do to try to stop a really bad person from wrecking the Republican Party and damaging the nation. NeverTrump was my obsession, but it was, at that time, merely political for me.…

The two parties were protesting for their own rights. The white supremacy was protesting for the fact that different races have the same rights as them, and that they are sharing the same country of a different races. In addition, the opposing party was fighting for their own rights, and they were protesting against the opposing party. The white supremacy group was motivated and captivated by Donald Trumps campaign when he was running for president. My opinion on this would be that the white supremacy group was taking it to far and where abusing their rights of protesting.…

My obnoxious yellow posterboard read “We may not have chosen the time, but the time has chosen us.” The time was Donald Trump’s inauguration and everyone there was chosen to fight for everyone’s rights as American citizens. I held it high above a plethora of pink yarn woven into cat ears. The hat, a sticker on my head, and a logo on my shirt announced my ideals. More than 500,000 chanted in Washington and 5 million worldwide, and all together we sounded like one voice.…

Families have been interrupted by racist civilians in their neighborhoods, schools, and restaurants. One event that happened in a high school volleyball game is a great example on how Trump supporters have no compassion for others. Dallas new reported, “Archer City students chant "Build that wall" during a high school volleyball game and students also held Donald Trump/Mike Pence signs and what appeared to be a "Come and Take It" flag, which was flown at the Battle of Gonzales, the first military engagement in the Texas Revolution” (Caradonna).
