Truman State Transfer I am not an engineer. I really thought I would be, and I currently am a nuclear engineering major here at Missouri S&T. But, I am not an engineer. Just the freshman level engineering courses were enough to let me know that engineering isn’t what I want to do for the rest of my life. I still don’t know exactly what I want to do with my life, however a guest speaker here talking about his job in economics had me more interested and intrigued then all of my engineering classes combined. Missouri S&T is a school designed for those who want to become engineers, it has more engineering options than I knew existed, yet options outside of that are very limited. That’s where my interest in Truman state comes from. When I look to Truman I see a school that has a lot of opportunities for career exploration, a great environment, and exceptional post graduation success. Truman State’s focus on the liberal arts and sciences regardless of major choice ensures that, regardless of what my major of choice ends up being, I will wind up adequately prepared for my career. With this approach to schooling I know that at Truman I will be enabled to look and, if wanted, …show more content…
I have only heard marvelous reviews about the environment I could encounter at Truman State. Several friends who attend currently have mentioned terrific things involving the faculty and the other students. They’ve mentioned how willingly helpful the staff has been to them. Especially their advisors. One friend in particular had an advisor go well beyond what could have been expected of him to help her coordinate her schedule when she was considerably conflicted on what classes best suited her. I have encountered many other students when visiting Truman State, and I have noticed the vast majority of enrolled students are abundantly helpful, even though I was not a current student at the

To accurately depict the overarching qualities of Northwestern which I find most intriguing, it is easiest to provide a line from the university’s president, Morton Shapiro, on why the university stands out from their competitors. While emphasizing the school’s motivated approach to maximizing attention toward undergraduate students, Shapiro professed that the school’s “focus on undergrads without losing the identity as a great research institute” is a quality that sets Northwestern apart. This ideal, which is a crucial part of Northwestern’s identity, makes it all the more captivating. In the majority of colleges I have researched during my prodigious quest for the perfect university, I found that their “commitment to every student” was…

My view on ENGR 1000 During my first freshman semester as a student of UCONN, my point of view of what is like to be an engineer haven’t change at all. I took the class ENGR 1000 because it was part of the curriculum to graduate as an engineer, but it was also intended to give clues and ideas of the different areas that are within the engineer field. I learned some useful things with my professor, but also from my peers. Because my mind was already so set on this plan, it felt as though my options at this event were fairly limited. I saw no point in visiting the booths belonging to schools that were not on my “to-do list”. However, boredom and curiosity drew me to consider possibilities I had previously neglected—and now, though I have become more uncertain of what exactly will be the plot for the next decade or so, I can safely say that the future looks much brighter than it had before. In keeping with the decisions I had already made, I immediately looked for LSU’s and Northshore’s…
