The use of new technology of nuclear weapons by the United States defined the end of the World War II. The U.S. President Harry Truman had made an important decision in such action. Two Atomic bombs dropped on the Empire of Japan cities, one on August 6, 1945, on Hiroshima and another on August 08, 1945 on Nagasaki. This event shows how devastating nuclear weapons can be for the humanity and also, change the history of the world (Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki - HISTORY.com, n.d.).
The U.S. government fund nuclear weapons research called The Manhattan Project. On July 16, 1945, a nuclear device test located in the Trinity test at Alamogordo, New Mexico was proof of success (Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki - HISTORY.com, n.d.). President Truman was informed the possible impact that could cause the use atomic bomb in the war. He spoke with the Secretary of War Harry Stimson and the lead of The Manhattan Project Army General Leslie Groves and was advised that it could take the Soviet Union about four years to develop nuclear weapons. Also, mention the use of the powerful weapon can intimidate the Soviet Union leader in the possible expansion in Europe (Truman is briefed on Manhattan Project - HISTORY.com., n.d.).

On the other hand, in 1939, Albert Einstein wrote a letter to President Roosevelt about Nazi Germany conducting experiments on atomic weapons (President Truman: Using Atomic Bombs ... - Digital History., n.d.). The pressures of the U.S. Government were negative results in the continuation of the war. Already casualties have reached a high number, and it was estimated one million more casualties if an invasion of Japan mainland happens.
